From the time you place your order to getting connected can take up to 17 days.
You'll need a BT residential line to use the Tesco broadband service, however some BT services are not compatible. You should not proceed with your registration if you are running any of the following services:
- Subscriber Private Meeting
- 30K loop
- Private Services
- Red Care
- Copper Wideband Servicing Sections
- CWss 2 or 3 pair
- Featurenet 5000 services
- Private Exchange Branch Lines
- DACS

Some operating systems such as Windows XP allow multiple users to share a single internet connection. Tesco does not provide technical assistance for networking your computers but does not prohibit connection sharing.
Tesco recommend that you install both firewall and anti virus software in order to protect your computer and your content.
You will need to configure you Dial-up Network (DUN) Settings by taking the following steps:
You will need to begin from your computer's desktop, which is the first screen that you usually see when your computer has fully started.
- Click twice, using the left hand mouse button, on the 'My Computer' icon.
- You will now need to click twice, using the left hand mouse button on the 'Control Panel' icon
- Click twice, using the left hand mouse button, on the 'Network and Dial-up Connections' icon
- Click once with the right hand mouse button on the Tesco.net icon and choose 'Properties'
- Select the 'General' tab and ensure your modem is selected in the 'Connect using:' box
- Select 'Alternates' or new and enter the Tesco broadband dial-up back-up number, 0845 455 1000
- Save
If you need to use connect using dial-up instead of Tesco broadband, ensure that your dial-up modem is connected to the telephone socket and to the power supply if it is an external modem. Then select the Dial-up Networking icon on your desktop and choose the back-up number from the drop-down menu. Any internet calls made using this number will be charged on your BT bill.
